Closed / caution — Australia. My Little House and sister brand Container Domes and Shelters (Liberty Oz Pty Ltd, Brisbane): voluntary administrator James Taplin of BRI Ferrier appointed 15 June 2024; the administrator's report cited under-capitalisation, poor inventory management and port storage fees. Customers reported losses of more than $42,000 and $43,000 each. Tiny Home & Co (Randolph Industries Pty Ltd, Sunshine Coast): liquidation September 2024, RSM Australia appointed; major creditors include the ATO. Häuslein Tiny House Co: its own site indicates it is winding down house manufacturing while continuing trailers — confirm build availability before ordering.

THIA — Tiny Homes Industry Association: accredits businesses and runs the Tiny Homes Expos. Look for THIA accreditation and ask to see it.
ATHA — Australian Tiny House Association: member-run not-for-profit; publishes a free Buyers Guide, Construction Guide and Trailer Guide.
Context: 2,832 Australian construction companies became insolvent in FY2023–24 (ASIC data). A builder can legally spend your deposit; on collapse you are an unsecured creditor.

Before you pay a deposit: check certification for your intended use, search the company register for solvency, insist on staged payments tied to build milestones, confirm insurance and warranty in writing, and visit the workshop. The full checklist →
